FAYETTEVILLE — Valley View Class of 2027 running back-defensive back Carter Wallace was among the recruits at Arkansas on Saturday.

Wallace, 5-11, 198, had a good sophomore season. He carried 73 times for 466 yards and 11 touchdowns. On defense, Wallace had 36 tackles, six pass breakups and one interception. Wallace talked about why he came to the camp.

“I think it’s every kid’s, especially in Arkansas, to come play for the Hogs. Who wouldn’t want to be an SEC running back? Last time I was up here in April Coach (Kolby) Smith treated me really nicely.”

Wallace talked about his strengths on the field including his 10.6 time in the 100-meter dash.

“The most I get is my long speed,” Wallace said. “My burst is really good. I ran a 10.6 this last spring in track. I would say my vision and my game film. I study a lot. If you took away all my natural ability I think I would still be the best in that aspect.”

What would an offer to Arkansas mean to you?

“It would mean a lot to me,” Wallace said. “Especially right after my junior year. I plan on having a pretty big season. That would mean a lot to me that they believed in me.”

Wallace also looked forward to this fall forecasting how he thought his high school team would do.

“I think we will have a really good team,” Wallace said. “We could end up winning 5A. I definitely think we can be a Top 4 team in there. We have a lot of underrated dudes for sure. The offense is looking pretty good.”

In addition to Arkansas, Wallace said he is hearing from Purdue, Tulane and Arkansas State. James Shibest is recruiting me for Purdue and Tim Horton at Air Force likes me too.”

Wallace was impressed with the facilities at Arkansas.

“They are really impressive,” Wallace said. “Definitely top-notch. I got to see the locker room and weight room last time I was up here. I really think you could reach your full potential up here. I’m just 16 so I definitely have time to grow and get better. I feel I could definitely do that here at Arkansas.”
