FAYETTEVILLE — Missouri City (Texas) Ridge Point three-star wide receiver Robert Haynes IV committed to Arkansas on April 29.

Haynes, 6-2, 175, took his official visit to Arkansas this past weekend. As a junior at Ridge Point, Haynes caught 29 passes for 437 yards and six touchdowns. Following the visit, he provided feedback on how it went.

“Visit was great, I liked everything,” Haynes said. “It really opened my eyes. I got to spend some time with the coaches. It was pretty fun, everybody welcomed me and my family all weekend. The food was great, the other recruits were great, the players that hosted us were great. It was all-around just a great visit and I enjoyed my time here.”

Haynes’ father also was impressed with what the Hogs had to offer.

“My dad liked it a lot,” Haynes said. “He really enjoyed himself. It’s the first time coming on a visit, as well as me. It was all new to him so we didn’t know what to expect, but I could tell his mind was blown, as well. He had a good time, everything was good.”

Haynes was hosted by a freshman wide receiver also from the Houston area.

“Jay’Kayden Ferguson,” Haynes said. “He said all I’ve got to do is come in and get ready to work, and the work is going to show itself. Come in here with the right mindset, you can make some noise in Year 1 and get on the field early, make a name for myself early. I’ve got to come out and work.”

Haynes also talked about the highlight of the visit.

“Probably taking my pictures, for sure,” Haynes said. “My first time in an Arkansas uniform was nice. I really enjoyed that part.”

Haynes has double-digit offers, but he isn’t looking to consider any other school.

“Yes, sir. It’s surely fair,” Haynes said. “Nobody else has a shot. Completely 100% locked in. I don’t really need to see anything else from another school. It’s obvious and known that I’m valued here. I don’t need to go exploring for that type of relationship that the coaches are giving here.”

Haynes will play for Ronnie Fouch at Arkansas.

“Great guy, showed me a great weekend, as well,” Haynes said. “Spent time with him, got to watch some film. He kind of picked my brain and saw what I knew. A really great guy, really cares for me and my family and I can’t wait to play for him.”

Haynes’ teammate, offensive lineman Hugh Smith is also committed to the Hogs and officially visited the previous weekend.

“He called me as I was getting on the plane and told me it’s going to be fun, I’m going to enjoy myself and to just take it all in,” Haynes said.
